Slovensko - October 2008

I have to admit that I do not like being bored at home on holidays. Just like six last years my father planned for the longer weekend a trip to Slovak mountains. This time we went to Velká Fatra and Nízké Tatry.
I set off a day before others because I visited my grandma in Opava. The only reason I write it is, that I traveled by train during the night from Opava to Ružomberok and I have never experienced so terrible 6 hours in any mean of transport. I was standing whole night in a corridor with some drunken guys and gipsies, the train stopped everywhere and had 2,5 hour delay. And in the morning I just repack my backpack and went for a trip with others.
Whatever the way there was, I enjoyed other three days. Especially the first one - the sun was shining, leaves on trees got incredible colors and together with a glowing blue sky it made a beautiful autumn day - Indian summer.
We stayed in a cottage "Chata u potoka" in village Staré Hory and made trips to close surroundings - Križná, Donovaly, Špania Dolinaor the bunker "Mor Ho!".
Enough talking, see the pictures...

The Slovak Republic - September 2008

Friend of mine and I planned a trip to the Slovak Republic last year but we did not manage to do it during the holiday. This year we had our holiday one month longer so we packed our backpacks and set off for 10 day trip at the beginning of September.
We spent a night on a train and early in the morning we get off at the railway station in Poprad.

Our backpacks were quite heavy and we had to climb over one thousnad meters. We started from Tatranská Lomnice, went up to Skalnaté pleso, then down to Zamkovskeho chata and continued to Tyreho chata, where we stayed overnight. We were really lucky for weather, the sun shined on all the rocks surrounding the five mountain lakes near Teryho chata, including Lomnický štít. We passed Priečné sedlo and stepped down to Zbojnická chata and further through Studena dolina to Tatranská Lesná. I remember this path only covered with snow and I was amazed how it was beautiful in summmer.

Ecuador 2008

It took me a long long time to make a new post about such an amazing travel. I did not know, that I would be so busy by now.
Five weeks in Ecuador were absolutely incredible. We spent ten days in mountains, climbed Pichincha and Ruminahui - about 4600m above see level, southern summit of Ilinizas. We tried to get to the top of Chimborrazo - 6310m (the highest mountain of the world - measured from the center of the Earth) but we did not managed it, because of bad weather at that night. Even though it was unforgetable experince.
Another five days we traveled towards the jungle and we spent nearly week in the jungle, living in a river lodge. We went for several trips, got to know how the jungle looks like, saw a plenty of plants, birds and animals.
Then we got back to the capital city Quito and fllew to Galapagos. The program was set by the travel agency but we were quite satisfied with what we saw there. We visited the second largest volcano in the world after the one near Kilimanjaro, saw the giant turtles and iguanas and many more interesting birds, animals and plants.
It was the most exciting holiday in my whole life. If I could I would not hesitate and get back there.

Night in the Jizera Mountains

There are some photos taken during a trip in the Jizera Mountains with some of my very good friends. We took a bus to Nové Město pod Smrkem and we started our hike up on the highest mountain of the range - Smrk. The sun was slowly setting up, sky was absolutely clear and except some insects the evening was perfect. We reached the top on time when the sun was close above the horizon. We climbed up to the view-tower and enjoyed last minutes of sun shining. Because the cottage was occupied by some guys, we decided to spend the night in a hut behind the Czech-Polish border, not far from the view-tower. There's no need to describe the evening - talking with best friends, drinking, eating and simply having fun under the stars.
Falling asleep at nearly two o'clock in the morning I didn't think I would get up in half past four to see the sunrise but I managed to. I went to the tower again and took some photographs. My friends were angry because I tried to wake them up at eight o'clock. I admit it was absolutely useless, though they got up after ten. We packed our things and went to the Smědava cottage. After we ate a tasty lunch, we had followed the red down to Bilý Potok. We refreshed in the river and got on the train that took us back to Liberec.
I was really glad that the trip turned out so well. It was the last time together with my friends before leaving to Ecuador.

Here is the link to all the photographs (especially for my friends).

If anyone is interested there's no problem to resurrect the link to the zip file (especially for friends).
